Join Tessa Muir, Past President of JLGR and owner of Cidermill Photography, for a free headshot event provided as an exclusive benefit to JLGR members.

How to prepare:

​

  • Headshots are a wonderful opportunity to convey your personal brand. Think through this question ahead of time: What adjectives are you hoping your headshot might convey, and who is your audience?

​

  • You will be coached through natural-looking posing throughout your session. Don't worry about that!

​

  • Wear something that makes you feel great, that does not wrinkle, and that fits. If in doubt, size up, and keep it simple. 

​

  • Hair can be up or down, whatever you are most comfortable with. Wear slightly more than your normal amount of makeup (if you wear makeup at all). But don't go overboard. If makeup isn't your thing, consider maybe just some mascara and a neutral lipstick if you are comfortable with that. 

​

  • Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time. We will be getting a lot of headshots done, and moving each group through together will be the key to getting a variety of different backgrounds for everyone. Also, the building requires key access, so each group must enter together.

What's included:

​

  • 30-minute session shared in a small, fun-yet-socially-distanced cohort of up to 5 JLGR members at indoor and outdoor locations in downtown Grand Rapids. Photo backgrounds will include the city and an indoor sitting with a black backdrop and portrait lighting.

​

  • Light refreshments.

​

  • 3-5 professionally-edited watermarked images delivered in an online preview gallery. Cidermill Photography’s image-editing process includes professional adjustments designed to create a polished and natural-looking final image.

​

  • Your choice of one image from your gallery to be delivered as a downloadable high-resolution file. Use it for any purpose: LinkedIn, company website, JLGR directory photo, social media profile, business cards, company branding, etc. 

​

  • Additional images available for purchase for $20/image. 100% of proceeds go back to the JLGR. ​
