CIDERMILL PHOTOGRAPHY

The name Cidermill Photography was inspired by my first house in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a 130-year-old farmhouse that used to be an apple orchard. I am a full-time lawyer, so I shoot mainly on weekends and summer weekday evenings when it stays light out late. 

 

My photography style is relaxed, casual, and timeless. I offer documentary and photojournalism "day-in-the-life" sessions at my clients' homes, as well as portraits at scenic locations in the Grand Rapids area. My sessions are comfortable for everyone from active little ones who can't sit still to self-declared un-photogenic adults who feel a little uncomfortable with the whole idea of being in front of a camera. I make the experience as low-threat and unintimidating as possible, and I happily take charge of posing to bring out the best, most natural expressions and body language on everyone in a way that suits their personality. I look for soft, warm light for all my portraits, whether indoors or outdoors.
